9th December 2008

Like most people who have seen me this year will definitely know I have an eye related problem right? No, not about me having to wear glasses to enhance my sight ability but my swollen eyelids. It kept coming and going since July.

So, this morning my mum forced me out of bed again. Got ready and drank half a cup of Milo and a gummy sweet. We got to Damansara Specialist Hospital. Went to see the doctor. Dr. Lakshmi, I think. She is a very very nice lady :) My parents thought it'll be best that I just have the operation instead of going to the doctor every month and asking for medicine which mind you costs like 250 bucks per session. The doctor explained the procedure. She hesitated and said I was too young to have a surgery that required me to be awake. I might struggle with the pain and all. So she opted me for the other surgery, the one that I'll be unconcious during. The price difference is about RM 1500. Hell, I know. So I did go for the unconcious one.

I had to stay in the daycare for while that day. They gave me this oversized hospital gown, disposable underwear and a shower cap thingie. Lied down on the bed, played with my phone. Thinking of the downsides of the operation, Looking around, Laughed when my mom went behind the curtains and said 'boo!', Feeling very nervous, stomach growling cause I couldn'tt eat. A while later, a different doctor came and asked questions and checked my heartbeat and everything. Apparently, I was not supposed to eat that day so I guess there was a reason for me waking up late and skipping breakfast XD.

Finally, time for the surgery. I was a nervous wreck. Got into the OT or Operating Theatre. I pictured a whole Grey's Anatomy thing, McDreamy, Doctors around my side and everything hehe. but it's just an eyelid incision. There was this hose thingie under the bed sheet. It made the bed warm and nice. Engaging in a conversation with the doctor. Coincidentally, he was a father of my brother's schoolmates. Kept saying DJ is a good school and I shouldn't be afraid of the surgery and let the DJ name down. LOL. He gave me an injection on my wrist, then he apologized cause it went wrong cause it seeped into my veins too fast. He gave me a second one. I kept praying. My hands felt numb and it went to my head and so I guess the anesthetic kicked in.

Next thing I know, I was awake and opened one eye and I saw this nurse. Unsure whether it was real or not cause it DID feel unreal. I was in another room, i THINK. It was so blurry. The doctor came and asked whether I was okay or not. They pushed me to the room where my mom was in. My mom went and pay the bills and I was alone. There was a bandage on my left eye. Searched for my phone in my bag. My eye felt painful. Like taking a needle and forcing it gently to your hand for a long time. I know this was once in a lifetime chance so I took pictures. haha. I took picture of the bandage and saw blood on the bandage.

I heard the nurse telling my mom that my sleeping pill or something hasnt worn off yet but I didnt sleep at all after I woke up. The doctor then took off my bandage and my eye was bigger then ever! But it was temporary. I changed and walked out of the room in sunglasses XD. I LOVE the food in this place in the hospital. It's called Bizzy Bites. Awesome laa.

Sakit tau. I felt really weak. Do not EVER rub your eyes. Trust me.
